Culture news: Those good religious liberals and those bad religious conservatives

This is an interesting piece from a Jewish perspective about the skewed perspective in which religion is allowed to speak for liberal causes but is accused of "theocratic" impulses if it speaks on behalf of conservative causes.  Yair Rosenberg writes:

"The double standard is hard to miss. In each of these cases, it is not religion’s entanglement in politics that is the real target of criticism, but religious conservatism. Religious liberalism, on the other hand, gets a free pass."
