Church news: Should the Church rethink her position on divorce?

The world says that the Church needs to "get with times" when it comes to divorce and tries to argue that those in the Church are no better off when it comes to marriage.  W. Bradford Wilcox rejects this notion.  He looks at the data and reports, "So, in general, evangelical divorce rates fall in the middle, while mainline Protestant, Catholic, and Mormon divorce rates were the lowest in America."  In addition he notes that those who regularly attend church are about 35 percent less likely to divorce.  Rather than simply capitulating, Wilcox calls attention to the terrible cost divorce has for children.

  1. Did I hear that the Pope is thinking about changing his position on divorce?
